About
Hello internet traveler,
I don’t know how you happened upon these parts, maybe you already read my music site or saw something of mine on Filter. Maybe fate, Google’s algorithm, and a convergence of mutual interests brought you here. If that’s the case than I thank you for choosing my link out of all the other possibilities. Of course, it’s possible you work at a company and stumbled upon my twitter while mindlessly adding people in your capacity as a human bot. In any case, you won’t regret it. You could have chosen to read the opinions of any unqualified writer but you chose mine. That means a lot and I won’t soon forget it. Someday when I have a little more money I will open up hunting season on my wallet and anyone who can come up to me and say “I’m ‘Taun Taun’s Are Tasty’ (or whatever your net handle of choice is) and I commented on your site back in the day” will be entitled to an alcoholic beverage on me. The “back in the day” will be key though as there will be a cutoff date to exclude bandwagon jumpers or people at the bar who see the free drinks poured and have browsing capabilities on their phones. I’m glad I’m taking this precaution now because I have to assume that by the time this event can be started, everyone and their now easily affordable cloned helper Capuchin will have such a device. Incidentally, that’s how I’ll be verifying your claims.
But enough about the future, it is only day one of this grand adventure after all and I’m getting ahead of myself. This blog will remain separate from my music writing endeavors and feature my thoughts on just about everything else. As I read more on the net and saw the personal blog format used to great effect by people like Jay Hathaway, Sean Bonner and BikeSnobNYC (who is so good at the topical blog that it feels like it’s a personal blog about everything) I realized I have lots of interests and even a few experiences and there was no reason I shouldn’t be writing about them. I can grasp the notion that a music review/article should find its way to a music publication of some sort but I don’t know exactly where I would take these ideas to sell for print and I’m loath to play the waiting game of submitting them anyways, I decided to put them up here myself.
Enjoy, and if you work anywhere that pays people to type ideas out, and you want that drink, I suggest you contact me so we can get past this starving blogger phase and get to you being inebriated. I’m just trying to look out for you here.
Thomas
